The activities of the 16th Internet Governance Forum kicked off today in Katowice, Poland, with the participation of Syria, represented by the Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, and the accompanying delegation, which will continue until the tenth of this month.
In the first session of the first day of the forum’s activities under the title of global economic recovery.. Where has the world reached, Minister Al-Khatib participated in an intervention on the recovery of the global economy after the Corona pandemic, in which he spoke about the role and impact of the digital economy in facing the pandemic, referring to the solutions created by the countries of the world and the best global practices in Mitigating its effects, in addition to the difficulties faced by governments in achieving the goals of the sustainable development plans of the United Nations.
The Syrian delegation accompanying the minister consists of the Director General of the National Authority for Network Services, Dr. Anas Dahabieh, the Director General of the Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority, Eng. Manhal Junaidi, and the advisor to the Minister of Communications and Technology, Dr. Ibaa Owaisik.
The opening of the forum was attended by the Syrian ambassador to Poland, Radwan Lotf.
