A Safed resident is accused of assaulting a bus driver who commented that he did not pay for the trip
The attacker got on the bus holding a bottle of beer in his hand, and did not pay for the ride.
The driver reprimanded him for this, and explained to him that it was forbidden to get in the car with the drink.
In response, the defendant assaulted him during the ride - and continued to hit him even after he stopped on the side of the road.
The driver was hospitalized and needed 24 stitches

The Prosecution Division of the Israel Police today (Tuesday) filed an indictment against a 36-year-old Safed resident
who punched a bus driver.
Defendant attacked the driver for forbidding him to board the bus with a bottle of beer and reprimanded him for not paying for the ride.
The incident took place in mid-November, when the young man boarded Line 6 of the "Nativ Express" company from Ziv Hospital in Safed in the direction of the city's central bus station.
He got on the bus holding a half-liter glass of beer in his hand - and did not pay for the trip.
The bus driver remarked to him about it, explaining to him that it is forbidden to board a bus with a bottle of beer.

In response, the young man punched the driver while the bus was traveling.
The driver stopped the bus, got off it and then the young man approached him and attacked him once more with his fist and slammed the beer bottle he was holding on his head.
The driver suffered two cuts in the earpiece that required 24 stitches and was hospitalized for one day.
The head of the Kiryat Shmona Prosecution Branch of the Police Prosecution Division, Corporal Sisi Moyal, stated that "this is an indictment describing serious acts of the defendant, who attacked and injured a bus driver of a public transport, while driving while driving.
In a swift action by the police the accused was located that day and the prosecution division filed an indictment against him and a request for arrest.
The court in Kiryat Shmona detained the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings against him. "
