He swore in the committee investigating the escape of the six security prisoners from the prison under his command.
According to the same source, after his testimony was transferred to the State Attorney's Office yesterday, it is estimated that the investigation file will remain closed because Ben Sheetrit did not provide any new details in the case, claiming that his remarks were based on publications and what he knew about the affair. .
Dangling affair
As previously reported, following the wardens' complaints, the Prisons Service appointed an investigating officer, who decided to refer the complaints to a police investigation.
Police interrogated with warning the prison command and the intelligence officer, who was alleged to have sent guards to a security wing, where they were sexually and verbally harassed and even indecent acts were committed by one of the inmates.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the prosecution decided, in consultation with then-State Attorney Momi Lemberger, to file an indictment against the security prisoner and close the case against the prison command out of innocence.
The case against the intelligence officer was closed for lack of sufficient evidence.
Following this, the acting IPS commissioner at the time, retired Gondar Asher Vaknin, decided to return the officer to service but remove him from intelligence posts.
