He questioned that the recent frequent occurrence of industrial accidents has nothing to do with the supervision and inspection of government departments and contractors.
The scene of the collapsed scaffold was the sports park site in Kai Tak 16, Mutai Street. Pan Zhuohong, who is also a construction engineer, pointed out that shed collapse accidents are very rare and can cause serious casualties at any time. Fortunately, no workers were working under the scaffolding at the time of the incident, otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.
He is concerned that there have been site accidents in succession recently. When workers were hit and killed by concrete on the construction site of the Royal Theater in North Point yesterday, there has been another collapse in the Kai Tak Sports Park today. He criticized the Labour Department for inadequate supervision and negligence. Inspection; and the management and safety level of the construction company involved is also questionable.
The Labour Department stated that after the collapse of the shed, the department was aware of the incident and immediately sent staff to the scene of the accident to understand it, and it is investigating the cause of the accident.
The prescription has issued a temporary suspension notice to the relevant contractor to suspend the relevant process.
