T72, the eagle that survived the great poisoning in the Golan Heights in May 2019, was hit today (Tuesday) by a high-voltage line in the Carmel.
He is in critical condition and is being treated at the Wildlife Hospital of the Nature and Parks Authority and the safari.
According to them, this is the fourth eagle to hit a power line in the Carmel since the beginning of 2020. In fact, the eagle's detection was made possible thanks to the transmitter mounted on it, which provided real-time alert.
The eagle, whose life was saved in 2019 thanks to an atropine shot, was spotted in the Carmel area on Saturday afternoon after its transmitter sent a "non-cliff landing" warning.
An examination indicates that he may have gone down to eat in a non-sterile place, and in doing so, must have an immediate examination.
Assaf Miroz, who lives nearby, went out to check and found him standing on a high voltage pole.
Later, Yigal Miller, head of the breeding nucleus at the Nature and Parks Authority, went to the scene to find out why the eagle landed there.
Surprisingly, he found an orphaned calf standing next to his mother who died in the pasture.
The owner of the pasture was called and thus saved the life of the calf.
The Nature and Parks Authority said that alongside the news of saving the calf's life, the eagle was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
