The centrist senator of Pas-de-Calais Catherine Fournier died on the night of Monday 6 to Tuesday 7 December following a long illness, at the age of 66, AFP learned on Tuesday 7 December from the group centrist in the Senate.

Elected senator in 2017, Catherine Fournier was a member of the Committee on Economic Affairs.
She was notably chairman of the special committee on the Pact bill for the growth and transformation of businesses.
Regional councilor of Hauts-de-France, Catherine Fournier was mayor of Fréthun.
