Homs, SANA- Children of the Thimar al-Mahabah Association in Homs celebrated the International Day of the Disabled at the Culture Palace theater in the city center

The children of the Thimar al-Mahabah Association in Homs celebrated the International Day of the Disabled on the stage of the Culture Palace in the city, in the presence of a large family and people.

A number of children in the association presented purposeful theatrical sketches and childish, turquoise and folk songs through which they spread joy and hope in the souls of the attendees and showed their educational and intellectual skills, stressing that with will there is no disability.

A number of parents expressed their pride in their sons, who are standing today on the stage facing the audience with self-confidence.

Fadi Touma, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Themar Al Mahabeh Association, indicated that the association provides a supportive environment that embraces persons with disabilities and provides them with academic and cognitive rehabilitation services, behavior modification, physical therapy, intellectual development, speech therapy, speech and communication correction, in addition to music therapy to participate effectively and independently in all aspects of life and integrate them with peers.

Touma pointed out that the Adolescents Project seeks to provide a safe environment for adolescents affected by the conflicts and war in Syria who were not included in previous psychological support programs and protect them from abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect, allowing them to participate and express themselves, in addition to the association providing humanitarian aid to families with children with disabilities who have A poor living situation, numbering about 220 families, in Homs.

For her part, Aisha Qashash, coordinator of a friendly environment in the association, indicated that in the child-friendly space, integration programs, psychological and social support and recreational activities are provided for 150 children with disabilities.
