Tomorrow (Wednesday) the "Yellow" suspense series starring two nineties movie stars: Juliette Lewis and Christina Ritchie will air on Yes.
The series was recently released in the US and critics have crowned it as one of the best new series of 2021.
"The Yellows" is the name of the high school girls' soccer team in New Jersey.
In 1996, while on a flight to Seattle, their plane crashed.
The accompanying adults were killed while the girls survived and were forced to survive in the wilderness of Ontario forests in Canada for a year and a half until they were located.
The plot of the series skips between two timelines: their period of survival in the woods compared to today, when an investigative journalist tries to trace some of them in their adult lives.
Gradually it becomes clear that the girls are carrying with them an emotional charge and carrying secrets about what really happened then.
The clues talk about power struggles between them in the style of "fly owner" and even about cannibalism.
The ensemble of actresses is led by Juliette Lewis ("Killers by Birth," "Peak of Fear") in the form of the rebellious Natalie who in her adulthood developed destructive addictions;
Melanie Linsky ("Two and a Half Men") in a different character The Outstanding Student Who Became A Bored Housewife;
And Christina Ritchie in the form of Misty, an outsider whose difficult incident highlighted her leadership skills.
Richie (41) broke out as a child in the movie "Mermaids" with Winona Ryder and singer. A year later she starred in "The Adams Family." Towards the end of the nineties she made the transition to adult films like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," "Sleepy Hall" and "Monster," where she played the partner of a serial killer (Charlize Theron who won an Oscar). On television she wound up in guest roles in series like "Eli Parallel" and "The Good Wife."
In an interview to promote The Yellows, Richie said that "the audience remembers me horror and fantasy films I played in because these are getting more attention and promotion, compared to the low-budget dramas I've done over the years. I must admit "My resume is not a choice. I always want to try new things and not repeat things I did, but I realize I'm small and look cute until the moment I open my big eyes - and that's perceived as threatening. .
Richie told about the work they are the young actress who plays her character as a girl.
"I play Misty differently from how Samantha Hanrati, who plays the younger version, plays her," she said.
"Eventually Misty changed as a human being. More than 20 years have passed."
She added that "we are in a time when there is no longer an expectation that viewers will see themselves in characters to connect to a series or a movie. If we are just looking for what is similar to us - it pretty much paralyzes our minds."
