Dictatorship in (Democracy Summit) - By: Abdul Rahim Ahmed

One can understand the American claim of “democratic superiority,” especially after decades of attempts to export American democracy on board aircraft carriers, through multinational companies and “non-governmental” organizations, and through the thousands of missiles that bombed the capitals of “anti-democracy” in our Arab and Asian East.

And if it wasn’t for our painful experiences in our Arab region and its neighborhood with “American democracy”, which we experienced in support of authoritarian regimes that do not know any form of democracy, and were it not for the wars launched by Washington to change regimes under the pretext of spreading “democracy” in Iraq, Afghanistan and others, and its support for terrorist organizations in Syria such as “ISIS” But we recognized the good intentions of US President Joe Biden, who called for holding a virtual democracy summit on December 9-10.

Washington views its democracy as “the lady of the democracies” in the world, even though many countries view it as the greatest threat to democracy in the world, and it considers itself in a global war to spread its democracy, and other countries and peoples have nothing but to obey because the master of the White House believes that “democracy The United States is in conflict with the “dictatorship” represented by countries such as China and Russia, according to what Biden previously stated, and from here both China and Russia were excluded from the virtual summit.

The United States practiced dictatorship in its worst form in classifying the world between “democratic” and “non-democratic” countries, implementing the policy of former US President George Bush Jr. when he divided the world in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks with his famous phrase “He who is not with us is against us.” Today, the US administration ranks Biden is the world between “democratic” and unsatisfactory “non-democratic” countries.

The new American step increases international polarization and tension in the world, so how can the "democracy" summit be attended by the Israeli occupation entity and most Arab countries are absent from it?

How can Taiwan be invited to the summit, which is part of China, and exclude China?

How can we exclude Russia and invite states that need a microscope to find them on the geographical and political map?

There is no doubt that every country in the world has its own democracy that stems from within it, and there is no one detailed democracy that suits all countries, and the absence of most Arab countries from the top is not surprising, and we do not have the claim to say: The Arab countries are rich in democracy, but in all cases it is better than many The countries invited to the summit, on the one hand, and on the other hand, how can the American alliance with the Arab regimes that Washington classify as “undemocratic” be explained, except that political and economic interests outweigh their democratic considerations?

The titles that the summit will discuss, according to the US State Department, focus on three axes: confronting dictatorship, fighting corruption, and promoting human rights, but unfortunately, the first countries to practice international dictatorship are the ones calling for the summit, by imposing their policies on the world, waging wars outside the framework of international legitimacy and supporting the occupation. And the imposition of an illegal siege on peoples and states, so where is the democracy that Washington is talking about? And where are the human rights that it publishes at a time when it supports the Israeli occupation in its daily violations of the rights of the Palestinian people?

The most important question remains: Who authorized Washington to lead democracy in the world?

By what right do you classify the countries of the world?

If it was serious about supporting democracy, it would have called for the summit within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly and for all member states to attend it instead of Washington exercising its dictatorship by inviting and excluding whomever it wants in a move that seems to want to use it as a new weapon to expand its hegemony and impose its political agendas around the world.
