Distribution of citrus and olive plantations to farmers in Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA- The Lattakia Agriculture Directorate has started distributing citrus and olive trees and the rest of the fruit trees.

The Lattakia Agriculture Directorate began distributing plantings of citrus and olive trees and the rest of the fruitful and forestry trees to farmers according to a work program divided into individual requests and farming associations to reduce overcrowding in planting distribution centers and meet the needs of farmers.

According to the Director of Agriculture, Eng. Basem Doba, the directorate identified two centers for selling olive plantations in Buqa and Al Hanadi gathering, two centers for selling citrus plants in Vidio, and Al Hanadi Agricultural Center, two centers for selling various fruitful plants in the Sahel Center near Souk Al Hal and an agricultural center near Al Sen Lake in the Jableh area.

Doba explained to SANA reporter that the directorate, in order to avoid overcrowding, distributed the roles of planting purchase according to the carrying capacity of each center, with adherence to the date and name of the center specified on the sale voucher from the beginning of the season through distribution on Sunday and Tuesday of every week for cooperative societies and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for individual farmers previously registered within Indicative units according to roles that are organized by these units and for each region separately.

He indicated that the distribution process is carried out through the adoption of the agricultural organization and the holdings estimated by the extension units, pointing out that the high-quality plants produced and the directorate's production capacity of planting exceeds 1.8 million plants of all varieties.

Sana met at the Al-Hanadi Nurseries Gathering Center, a number of farmers while receiving the plantings, where they drew attention to the importance of the facilities set by the Directorate for distribution during the current year, which contributed to avoiding overcrowding, as well as the quality of the available plants and the lower price of the plants by half than the private nurseries, including Mudar Ali Deeb, who indicated the commitment of everyone The specific role and the cooperation of workers in the nurseries to deliver the planting.

While the farmer Subhi Ghazwan from the village of Al-Ruwaimia explained that the nurseries of the Directorate provide good varieties at reasonable prices, indicating that he chose varieties that suit the geographical nature and the available irrigation methods.
