Following the tragedy at the'Esterworld 'festival in Texas that claimed the lives of ten people, singer Travis Scott officially relinquishes all responsibility.
According to a TMZ.com report, the rapper has filed legal documents in which he denies the allegations leveled against him by a man named Jesse Garcia, who claims to have been in the audience at Scott's appearance when the disaster occurred and is demanding compensation from him.
Scott asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit because it was an attempt to harm him, at his company "Jack Enterprises" and his label "Cactus Jack".
According to the report, Travis is interested in filing a "general denial," a legal term in U.S. civil lawsuits that allows the defendant to file a single general response to all charges against him.
This means that the 30-year-old musician rejects any claim of his responsibility, regarding the deaths and injuries of people in the disaster that occurred during his performance, and he asks the court to treat this as an official position in all the lawsuits against him on the subject. According to sources, Scott plans to file a similar response to any civil lawsuit filed against him. It should be noted that last week an initiative was presented to combine all 275 complaints that have been filed against him so far, into one class action. The reason for the singer's request is related to the fact that the allegations raised in all of them are very similar to each other. Scott's men are therefore asking the court to appoint one judge, who will deal with the case as a single case. The court has not yet published its decision on the matter.
In public reactions to the disaster, it was said on behalf of Travis' people that he was unaware of what was going on in the audience while he was performing.
It should be noted that Travis Scott and Live Nation immediately offered refunds to anyone in attendance.
One of the lawsuits filed against them refers to this act as "a transparent and grotesque attempt by the defendants to reduce their obligations after the case, to the families of those killed or injured."
Among the ten dead is the name of 9-year-old Ezra Blount.
