The new study, conducted by the National University of Ireland "Galway" and published by the Express website, found that anger and intense exercise can lead to a fatal stroke, a condition that occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is cut off.
Professor Andrew Smith, one of the team that authored the study, said that 'feeling upset or angry' was associated with a nearly 30% increased risk of stroke.
With regard to intense physical exertion, Professor Smith said it was associated with a "approximate 60 percent increased risk of intracerebral hemorrhage within one hour".
A stroke occurs in two cases, the first when a blood clot that forms over time due to fatty deposits prevents the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain, and it can also occur due to a type of arrhythmia called atrial fibrillation, where the heart beats at an abnormal speed.
The other type of stroke is called hemorrhagic stroke, which occurs when a blood vessel inside the skull ruptures, causing bleeding in and around the brain, mainly caused by high blood pressure.
