President Yitzhak Herzog on the "Think Well" project (President's House)

The "Think Well" campaign to change the discourse on the Internet was launched today (Tuesday) at the initiative of President Yitzhak Herzog in collaboration with META Israel.

As part of the project, dozens of celebrities and well-known figures in the country will share videos of themselves reading the most offensive response they received online, with the blunt and aggressive words censored and replaced with positive and reinforcing words.

Among the participants in the campaign, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, MK Miri Regev and MK Miki Zohar and another list of celebrities and network stars, including Maor Buzaglo, Nadav Aboksis and Anna Zack.

The goal of the project is to flood millions of followers with the difficulty behind reading harsh responses, to encourage people to think twice before using abusive and violent language, and to think positive thoughts before writing a response.

In a unique move, the most blatant and offensive responses will be censored and replaced with positive responses, with leading celebrities publicly revealing and illustrating to millions of Israelis the power of words - words that can hurt network influencers and celebrities with hundreds of thousands of followers, as well as ministers and MKs facing daily criticism.

The campaign was born out of a commitment to preventing bullying and abusive and violent discourse on social media.

On the occasion of the launch of the project, Herzog wrote: "It's time to think well. Tell us, what happened to us? How did the discourse between us become so heated, extreme and unbridled? How did we turn social networks into a stage where everything is allowed, where anyone can get dirty, To humiliate, despise, treat any opponent or just have a different opinion of the enemy? ".

"The ability to bring about this change," Herzog writes, "begins with the keyboard and cell phone of each and every one of us. "Stop, take a deep breath and remember: the blunt language, the abusive words, do nothing. They only cause harm."

Meta's CEO in Israel, Adi Sofer-Thani: "I am excited to cooperate with the President of the State and dozens of opinion leaders.

The 'Think Well' project turns the spotlight on the most difficult moments on social networks to provoke dialogue and make a clear statement against a phenomenon that has no place on our platforms.

I thank everyone who bravely agreed to expose the ugliest words written to them, to lead such an important move against any revelation of bullying, abusive discourse and violent language on the net.

We have an uncompromising commitment to providing a safe and positive experience for the billions of people who use our platforms. "
