Football professional Leon Goretzka from FC Bayern Munich can vote for the next Federal President.
The German national player has been put on the list of members of the next federal assembly by the Bavarian SPD, which the state parliament in Munich approved.
The nominees, along with the Bavarian members of the Bundestag, can take part in the election on February 13th.
Of all parties, the list consists mainly of members of the state parliament or the European parliament, as well as local and party politicians.
Honorary chairmen Edmund Stoiber, Theo Waigel and Horst Seehofer are also allowed to travel to Berlin for the CSU.
The Greens have put the actor Marcus Mittermeier on the list.
It is customary for parties to occasionally nominate celebrities for the Federal Assembly.
Party membership is not necessary for this.
Ex-national coach Joachim Löw and drag queen Olivia Jones have also participated in federal presidential elections for the Greens.
