France pledged on Tuesday to
"support Colombia in its energy transition"
, during a visit to Bogota by the French Minister for Foreign Trade Franck Riester, on tour in Latin America.

Franck Riester signed with Colombian Minister of Mines and Energy Diego Mesa a

and decarbonization, AFP noted.
Paris thus intends, through its cooperation and its companies present in the country,
"to put its expertise at the service of its relationship with Colombia",
particularly in the sustainable city sector: transport, energy, infrastructure, environment.
Franck Riester was accompanied by the bosses and representatives of 25 French companies.
He notably met President Ivan Duque, as well as Francisco de Roux, President of the Truth Commission, resulting from the historic peace agreement signed in 2016 with the Marxist guerrillas.
Nearly 250 French companies are present in Colombia, for 150,000 resulting jobs.
