So that the possible contract is legally watertight, the initiators of the Freising cycling decision got help from professionals.

Can the initiators of “Radentscheid Freising” and the city agree on a public law contract in order to circumvent the referendum now scheduled for April 3, 2022?
So that everything goes right from the point of view of the “Radentscheids Freising”, so that the possible contract is as binding as possible and any formal legal reservations can be dispelled and refuted, the initiators have obtained legal assistance - and that costs money.
That is why they are now addressing the citizens with an appeal for donations.
"So that the legal possibilities for a bicycle-friendly design of the traffic conditions are optimally exploited, the Radentscheid has called in legal assistance for the coordination process," says the press release from the Radentscheid.
Around 3000 euros are still missing in the cash register
The lawyer consulted was "an expert in her field with experience in other cities", had already advised the Radentscheid Freising on the formulation of the text of the request and was also involved in both an initial preliminary discussion and a first meeting, confirmed Andreas Kagermeier followed this "admittedly unusual route".
Since the estimated costs are around 6,000 euros, the citizens of Freising are now approached with a request for a donation.
The supporters of the Radentscheid Freising - the ADFC, the VCD, the parliamentary group of the ÖDP and the local association of the Greens - would already contribute to the legal advice costs, but Kagermeier estimates that there is still a funding gap of around 3000 euros.
But that is money well spent, after all, they want to formulate the possible contract with the city in such a way that binding actions must follow and things are not put on the back burner because of some vague formulations.
