Hugo Delavelle started out alone in his cabinetmaking workshop in Saulnot (Haute-Saône), in 2009. This high-end furniture manufacturer today signs collaborations with a few internationally renowned designers and interior architects, and exports its creations in the United States, Moscow or London: Hélène Darroze has furnished her restaurant with items by Delavelle. To get to the head of this company of 13 employees, which is about to cross the milestone of one million euros in turnover, this 37-year-old Franc-Comtois gave everything, until his last savings. Eleven years of practice and hard work which, however, went up in smoke overnight in a fire. The incident was declared on March 9, 2020, at the time of the lunch break, in the attic of his 300 m2 workshop. In 45 minutes,the flames devoured the entire stock, which represents hundreds of references and made-to-measure furniture awaiting delivery.
