The "Mental Resilience" conference of the "Israel Hayom" newspaper and the Israel Medical Association is being held today (Tuesday) at the Zappa Midtown Club in Tel Aviv. 

The conference deals with the psychological consequences of the closures and the corona virus on the youth in the country.

This is one of the unspoken consequences of the epidemic, which manifests itself in a large wave of phenomena such as depression, closure, social disconnection and mental illness, which many of the youth experience more.

The conference will be opened by the editor of "Israel Today" Boaz Bismuth, and will be followed by the wife of the President of the State, Ms. Michal Herzog.

Subsequently, there will be five sessions, which will deal with the various aspects of the mental problems that adolescents face.

The people who will chair the sessions will be "Israel Today" reporters Ran Reznik, Meital Yasur Beit-Or, Daniel Roth-Avnery (who will also chair the entire conference), Ran Pony, Shir Ziv and Jackie Levy.

The conference will be attended by many public representatives and experts in the field of medicine and mental health, including Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, Minister of Welfare and Social Security Meir Cohen, MKs Michal Rosin (Meretz) and Michal Waldiger (Religious Zionism), President Elam Nava Barak, Prof. Zion Hagai and other key experts in these fields.

The first session, "From Vaccine to Resilience", will include a discussion in the field of mental health in Israel and its effects on adults.

Among other things, the session will include a conversation between Minister Nitzan Horowitz and journalist Ran Reznik.

Later in the session, a panel discussion will be held entitled "Mental Health Services in Israel - From the Backyard to the Front of the Stage", with the participation of MK Waldiger, who heads the Mental Health Lobby of the Knesset, MK Rosin, Dr. Ilan Tal, psychiatrist and director of Center D. R. Tal for emotional and mental support ", and Dr. Gilad Bodenheimer, Director of Mental Health at Maccabi Health Services.

The second session, "Crossing the Border," will deal with the impact of the epidemic on young people on the margins of society, who also suffer from chronic instability and many problems on a daily basis.

The session will open with the words of the president of the Elam Association, Nava Barak.

The third session, "Educators for Life," will deal, among other things, with ways to educate for mental health, and will initially be discussed by Minister Shasha Bitton and correspondent Daniel Roth-Avnery on the subject.

The fourth session, "Healthy Mind in Healthy Body," will focus on sports as a way to mental health, with Culture and Sports Minister Hili Trooper and journalist Jackie Levy talking about sports and the spirit.

The fifth session, which will sign the conference, will deal with parents' dealings with the processes going on in adolescent youth.

In the Moshav program - a conversation between the Minister of Welfare and Social Security, Meir Cohen, and Roth-Avnery.
