Customs officers seized on Saturday 1.5 tonnes of cocaine in a container in transit in the port of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), AFP learned Tuesday (December 7) from a police source.

The drugs were not intended for the port of Le Havre and there was no arrest, according to the same source.
The branch of the anti-narcotics office in Le Havre is responsible for investigations.

A preliminary investigation for international drug trafficking was also opened by the prosecution of the specialized interregional jurisdiction (Jirs) of Lille, according to the same source.
Contacted, the Lille prosecutor's office and the national customs directorate did not immediately follow up.
