A little over a week after the Balloon d'Or ceremony in Paris, Robert Lewandowski broke his silence in an interview with one of the Polish sports sports programs.

As on the pitch, he was sharp and not afraid to say what was on his mind.

"Lucky we didn't have a midweek game after the ceremony," the Bayern Munich star said, "I was unable to play. I was sad that I did not win the Balloon d'Or, not a day or two."

Lewandowski continued: "The fact that I was able to compete closely with Leo Messi only shows what level I have reached, but it does not satisfy me, even if I was close to winning."
