The Equal Opportunities Commission (Equal Opportunities) commissioned the Youth Research and Practice Center of Hong Kong Baptist University in June last year to conduct research on the education and employment of ethnic minority youths in Hong Kong.

The research report shows that Chinese literacy is the main obstacle to the employment of ethnic minorities.

Minority youths of different backgrounds have different levels of Chinese proficiency. At present, most of the other Chinese courses in the market are regarded as not practical enough.
