Engineer Silva Ziadeh was awarded a PhD in Agricultural Engineering, Department of Plant Protection, Al-Baath University, for her research paper entitled Nosema disease and its causes in honey bee hives in Syria.
The researcher pointed out that the research included an effective application for the treatment and prevention of Nosema ceranie disease by using environmentally friendly organic and plant compounds that do not affect the health of bees.
Ziada pointed out to SANA Youth that the aim of her research lies in determining the places of infection in Syria and its relationship with weather factors and their role in the disease, revealing its cause, evaluating control methods, and implementing new programs for control using aromatic plant oils.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, pointed out the importance of scientific research that dealt with bee neuralgia in Syria, which had several problems that beekeepers suffered from, pointing out that it is considered one of the distinguished research as the researcher conducted practical and applied experiments in several places in Syria.
Ziadeh was awarded a PhD in Agricultural Engineering with a grade of distinction and a mark of 93.4 percent.
