Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Caprisas discussed with Syrian Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Maya in the Cuban capital, Havana, ways to strengthen and develop relations between Syria and Cuba, especially in the economic field.
During the meeting, Caprisas reiterated his country's positions in support of Syria, stressing the need to upgrade economic relations between the two countries.
In turn, Ambassador Mia presented a set of topics related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the importance of strengthening relations with Cuba.
Dr. Mia also briefed the Cuban side on the latest developments on the Syrian arena, especially the economic side, in light of the challenges arising from the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria.
The meeting was attended by Ali Abbas, the diplomatic attaché at the Syrian Embassy in Cuba, and from the Cuban side, Ambassador Emilio Losada, Director of Bilateral Relations Department at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
