Today, the Israeli occupation forces prevented the Hebron Reconstruction Committee from completing the restoration and maintenance work at the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Hefzy Abu Sneina, told Wafa that the occupation forces prevented the Reconstruction Committee employees from completing the restoration work, pointing out that these aggressive practices come within the framework of the attempts of the occupation and its settlers to Judaize and seize the campus.

In turn, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Ahmed Al-Tamimi, confirmed that the occupation and its settlers continue their aggressive practices in the Ibrahimi Mosque and its surroundings in the Old City on a daily basis with the aim of Judaizing it, violating all international resolutions in light of blatant international silence.

Al-Tamimi called on the United Nations to stand up to its responsibilities, implement the relevant resolutions and put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop their Judaization measures and attempts to deliberately sabotage the Palestinian cultural heritage, especially the decision of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO issued in July 2017, which considers the Ibrahimi Mosque a Palestinian heritage site.
