A woman will receive monetary compensation of NIS 360,000 because her husband cheated on her with transgender men - the Great Rabbinical Court in Jerusalem ruled, after the woman demanded a divorce from her partner.

The woman insisted that the reason for the divorce was the betrayal of the man.

The court did not initially confirm her arguments, ruling that the reason for the divorce was violence used by the man against his wife - a claim that the husband stated that she was lying.

This is so that the woman will not receive the full amount of the ketubah, which is NIS 360,000.

The husband claimed on the other hand that the wife was the one who opened the divorce suit, and therefore according to the halakhah she will not receive the amount of the ketubah.

The woman insisted on receiving the full amount and presented sexual correspondence with the men, proving that he had indeed betrayed her.

Advocate Shira Shoaf Dagan, who represented the woman, explained that when a rabbinical court finds the husband guilty of dismantling the family unit - he will usually force him to pay the ketubah for the woman, thus effectively determining an unequal division of property between the couple. Shoaf Dagan sought to appeal the case This is about the court's decision following the man's confession of infidelity to his wife, as well as due to WhatsApp messages proving his ties to men, evidence that should provide proof that the husband is guilty of dissolving the marriage.

After the woman filed an appeal, the judges of the Great Rabbinical Court - Rabbi Avraham Schindler, Rabbi Maimon Nahari and Rabbi Zion Luz Iluz - reached the opposite conclusion, according to which "it is clear that the man's relationship with foreign men also greatly affected the dissolution of the marriage."

According to them, "the woman's claim that the reason for the dissolution of the marriage is the betrayal of the man with foreign men cannot be denied."

In part of the ruling, the court used the derogatory nickname "shemale".

The court ruled that the wife will receive monetary compensation in the amount of NIS 360,000, instead of an equal distribution in writing as is customary in cases of divorce where the husband and wife share property and property equally.

The balance of the amount after the wife receives the written amount, will be transferred to her ex-husband in accordance with the Financial Relations Act.
