They came together symbolically in the Futurium, a Berlin center for exhibitions on the subject of shaping the future: the traffic light parties signed their coalition agreement on Tuesday morning.

After the SPD and FDP, on Monday the Greens also approved the 177-page government program entitled "Dare to make more progress".

All ministers have now also been named.

On Wednesday, Olaf Scholz (SPD) will be elected Chancellor in the Bundestag and his cabinet will be sworn in.

After 16 years the era of Angela Merkel (CDU), who did not run again in the federal election on September 26th, ends.

Later, the designated Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), Green leader Robert Habeck and the FDP chairman Christian Lindner want to answer the questions of the media in the federal press conference.

Habeck is not only designated as Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection in the new federal government, but also as Vice Chancellor.

Lindner takes over the office of finance minister.
