Watch only if you'm seventy: this is what the best gelato in the world looks like | Israel today

What is the difference between gelato and ice cream? It does not really matter, because these are two particularly tempting desserts • In the international competition that determines what the successful gelato is, a country that is not Italy actually won.

You would expect the best gelato in the world to come from Italy, right?

After all, the land of the boot is the birthplace of this frozen and wondrous dessert.

So this is, no.

In fact, Hungarian-made gelato won the coveted title in the Gelato World Masters Competition - the recent Gelato World Championship held at the "Capregiani Gelato University" near Bologna, Italy.

The competition is held every four years under the auspices of the Caprigiani Company - one of the largest and most respected manufacturers of gelato and ice cream machines in the world, and is considered the most prestigious in its field.

This year, no less than 32 gelato makers from 18 countries took part in the competition, which lasted 12 hours and forced the 11 professional judges, including confectioners and certified gelato experts, to taste dozens of flavors of the sweet and creamy jelly.

Poor people.

Not just goulash, papens and karyots

In the end, the first prize was awarded to the Hungarian confectioner and chef Gelatas Adam Peskak, thanks to his work Frutta di Pistacchio - a salty pistachio-flavored gelato with the addition of tonka beans, raspberry coli and pistachio crumble, which captured the judges' hearts - and taste buds.

As early as 2018, Pazkash won first place at the local gelato championship held in his country, and now, as mentioned, he has also conquered the world summit.

Excited Pazkash explained that one of the best-selling products in his dessert shop, located in Budapest, inspired him to create the winning gelato flavor, which will be sold starting this week in Pazkash's store.

Winner of first place

And there were other winners: in second place in the competition came the Spaniard Carlo Guerrero, who brewed a gelato-flavored gelato (a type of cherry wine), while the Italian Marco Venturino settled for a respectable third place with a rose water-based gelato.

Another award was given to Saudi Muhammad Majed Tabak for creating his cardamom (cardamom) and saffron, which was voted the best gelato in the Middle East and Africa.

And wonder: gelato and ice cream are similar desserts, but there are some significant differences between them: in gelato you will usually not find eggs and it has very little air - which makes it much denser than ice cream.

Also, gelato contains more milk and less cream compared to ice cream, and should be served at a slightly warmer temperature than ice cream, so its texture is usually softer and creamier.
