From December 10 to 12, the festivities and pilgrimages will take place in person, although there will be restrictions on some activities and health protocols will be followed in order to prevent the spread of covid-19, reported ecclesiastical authorities and the government of the City of Mexico.

It will not be possible to spend the night in the Sanctuary

Among the activities that were commonly carried out during this celebration was spending the night in the Sanctuary, but this year it will not be possible.

Monsignor Salvador Martínez Ávila, rector of the Basilica of Guadalupe, explained in a press conference that the intention is that the flow of the visit is continuous and the pilgrims do not stay more than 15 minutes inside the Sanctuary.

“It is very common to spend the night from 10 to 11 and from 11 to 12 but not this year.
