On the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, the Revolutionary Youth Union honored, over two days, 40 male and female students from the boarding schools of the sons and daughters of martyrs who contributed to volunteer work in their schools during the current year.

The organization’s designated president, Ali Al-Abbas, stressed the importance of honoring to motivate these young people to volunteer work, as it is the most accurate image of spreading the values ​​of interdependence and cooperation, as well as being a human behavior that indicates the ability to give without compensation, as was the case of their parents who charted the path to victory with their pure blood, referring to the organization’s role in promoting a culture of volunteerism Young people have to be partners in the reconstruction process.

Major General Bassam Berri, Director of the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Affairs Affairs, indicated that the students who contributed the most to volunteer work within schools were selected to honor them as a kind of motivating them to continue volunteering, in addition to motivating their colleagues to follow their example and participate in volunteer work.

A number of the sons and daughters of the honored martyrs indicated that volunteer work is an important pillar for the advancement of the country and the development of society. Mudar Humaidan, Nawar Muhammad, Batoul Al-Dali and Raghad Al-Ajen indicated that their participation in volunteer work in their schools was a symbolic expression of their desire to deliver a set of positive messages that urge volunteering as Unconditional giving contributes to the development of the human personality and the dissemination and consolidation of the concept of partnership.

It is noteworthy that the United Nations has established since 1985 the International Volunteer Day, or what is known as the International Volunteer Day, on the 5th of December of each year.
