"I was afraid this would happen": young Argentine is murdered in Miami Beach by a co-worker who harassed her

Delfina Pan, 28, was a graphic designer and photographer who had just moved to the United States and worked in a restaurant where she met the man who became obsessed with her and later stabbed her to death.

Agustín Lucas Mariani, 20, waited for her to arrive from the

Then Mariani stabbed her to death.

According to Pan's family and friends, the young man was obsessed with her and harassed her. 

That day, they were both on duty at the premises, but he, who had to finish his shift around midnight, left shortly after she left.

Pan, who studied graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires, moved to the United States and shared his projects as a

Mariani, also Argentine, has been charged with murder, CNN reported Monday.

He is recovering from his self-inflicted injuries and refused to testify to authorities.

According to the outlet, the knife he used to murder her matches one that had been lost in the restaurant where they worked. 

The young woman had denounced to her bosses the harassment of which she was a victim, the newspaper El Clarín reported.
