Fear for the life of the commander of the Indian Army, Bipin Rawat, for a brother whose helicopter carrying him along with other senior Indian Army officials crashed in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
According to initial reports, at least two people were seriously injured in the crash, which took place near the city of Solor.
The helicopter, an MI-17 made in Russia, crashed after it was on its way to the military academy in Wellington.
Local media reported that a rescue team arrived in the area and found bodies scattered at the scene of the disaster and sooty remains of the military helicopter that caught fire after the crash.
