Tehran-Sana

Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for International Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani expressed his country's appreciation for China's supportive stance on major issues, including the priority of lifting the US illegal embargo and providing guarantees to Iran in this regard.

Bagheri Kani stressed, during a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Majao Su, reported by IRNA, the importance of the proposals made by Tehran regarding the talks in Vienna with the Four + One group regarding the format of the nuclear agreement, noting that these proposals were formulated in a documented and inferred manner, and that the other parties must express documented position in this regard.

Bagheri-Kani praised the bilateral cooperation and convergent visions between Tehran and Beijing on many international issues, including the Vienna negotiations.

For his part, the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister stressed the importance of consultations and cooperation between the parties to the negotiations, expressing his hope that the other parties would also have a constructive stance in order to push the negotiations forward.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry recently confirmed that the text proposed by Tehran during the seventh round of the Vienna talks on the nuclear agreement is based on the draft of the previous six rounds.

It is noteworthy that a new round of negotiations took place in Vienna during the past few days between Iran and the Four Plus One Group to reach an agreement on reviving the nuclear agreement signed between the two sides in 2015.
