Brazil will auction most of the country's airports to the private sector by the end of 2022, in order to increase investments and the quality of services, the government said in a tweet on Wednesday.

Since 2019, Brazil has auctioned 34 airports that have already guaranteed the commitment of approximately 34,000 million Brazilian reais (more than US $ 6,000 million) in investments, the government tweeted, adding: “By the end of 2022, another 16 airports will be auctioned , including Congonhas, in São Paulo, and Santos Dumont, in Rio de Janeiro, two of the main Brazilian cities ”.

The Brazilian Government also said that “the government expects to grant more than 12,000 kilometers of highways in addition to the Port of Santos, the largest in Latin America.
