Brazilian soccer superstar Pelé was hospitalized to undergo treatment for a colon tumor, the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo reported on Wednesday, adding that he is in stable condition and should be discharged from the following days.
The former Brazilian footballer, considered by many to be the best soccer player of all time and a three-time world champion with the Brazilian team, underwent surgery in early September for the same condition.
According to the hospital statement on Wednesday, Pele, 81, is "continuing" his treatment.
The soccer legend said on Twitter last month that he was "fine" and was feeling better "every day."
