Today, Iraqi forces launched a large-scale security operation in Diyala Governorate, in the east of the country.
The Security Media Cell said in a statement reported by Alsumaria News that the Diyala Operations Command began this morning to carry out search and search operations on the outskirts of Khanaqin and Kifri districts and on the banks of the Diyala River, while a force from the Counter-Terrorism Service, in partnership with special forces from the Regional Guard, carried out operations in areas of security concern. The joint with the support of the Army Aviation and the Air Force.
The cell added that this operation comes within the framework of coordination and joint action, which is supervised by the Joint Operations Command to purify the areas from the presence of ISIS terrorist gangs.
The Iraqi forces continue to pursue the remaining ISIS remnants in a number of regions of the country.
