The Kazakh Foreign Ministry announced today that the next round of the international meeting in the Astana format on Syria will not include holding a final general meeting.
A statement by the ministry on its website stated that a final meeting was not planned within the framework of the next round of the meeting in the capital, Nur-Sultan, due to quarantine restrictions. Due to the quarantine restrictions associated with the spread of the Coronavirus, a closing public meeting is not planned.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ipek Smadyarov, announced yesterday the date of the international meeting in the Astana format on Syria in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, on December 21 and 22.
It is noteworthy that the Astana meetings in the Kazakh capital began at the beginning of 2017, and 16 meetings were held, one of them in the Russian city of Sochi, and in total, they affirmed the firm commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and continuing the war against terrorist organizations in it until its final defeat.
