In general examination rooms, most candidates take the exam in the auditorium, and seats have been allocated before the test; however, the special examination rooms are mostly located in the classrooms, which usually accommodate a few to more than a dozen candidates, and only a few are located in the auditorium. Because the examination work is more complicated than the general examination room, and the seats are allocated before the test. There is a lot of preparation time. In 2021 DSE, the Examination and Assessment Bureau will not only hire faculty as invigilators, but also hire about 150 examination staff to assist in the operation of the special examination venue.
In 2010, Chen Shaohua suggested to the Appraisal Bureau to improve the design of the "rest time" reminder card, and the improved reminder card was adopted for the exam the following year.

In addition to the implementation of the examination procedures in the special examination room for the invigilation, the examination room director will obtain the special candidate information before the examination, so that the seats can be arranged according to the needs of the candidates.
For example, Chen Shaohua pointed out that if a candidate fails to control his body and is "depressed" when answering, he must be arranged to sit in the last row of seats so as not to affect other candidates. There were also candidates who could not sit in a light position and needed immediate attention. Position adjustment.
Chen Shaohua also said that the invigilators of the special examination room should pay attention to the physical condition of the candidates, such as the candidates with crutches, pay special attention to whether the candidates are unwell, and be prepared to respond accordingly.
In recent years, Chen Shaohua has been invited to share his experience at the meeting of examination directors. Before the examination, he will arrange the candidates in groups according to the special examination arrangement, and list the candidates' number, special arrangements, examination and rest time and other details so that the invigilators can perform their duties.

Although SEN examination venues are many and time-consuming, Chen Shaohua described it as an "important mission." He was quite satisfied. "Every time I participate with expectation, I don't feel hard."
Chen Shaohua has been involved in the training of examination staff in recent years. The HKEAA is now recruiting examination staff for general and special examination venues. He appeals to people with lofty ideals to join them. "This is not just a part-time job, it can also help young people, especially SEN Candidates face more obstacles and difficulties than other general candidates.
