During a telephone conversation with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed the need to launch work on demarcating the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan as soon as possible.
A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, following the call between the two ministers, said that they discussed urgent issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda and focused on the implementation of the Sochi agreements between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia that were reached on the 26th of last month.
The statement added that the Russian side stressed the need to ensure the launch of work on the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as soon as possible and the translation of the agreements of the tripartite working group on lifting restrictions on transportation and economic ties on the ground.
