A student from the National Police School (ENP) of Nîmes in the Gard died Tuesday at the city hospital center, indicates France Bleu.
The 21-year-old collapsed while jogging with his classmates.
He would have been the victim of a heart attack during a sports session within the establishment, indicates France 3 Occitanie.
His instructor tried to revive him before the student was taken care of by the emergency services.
The young man died shortly after in hospital.
A psychological cell was opened at the Police Academy for his classmates, in shock.
Former assistant in the public security of Villeurbanne, the student had passed the competition to become a peacekeeper.
He was part of the 263rd promotion of the ENP.

"It is with great sadness that we learn of the tragic disappearance of our colleague Pablo, a student peacekeeper at the ENP of Nîmes", reacted the union Alliance Police Nationale on Facebook.
"We offer our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones."
Several students from the same school as the young man shared their sadness on social networks.
“Today we are losing a brother.
But I'm losing a friend, ”laments a peacekeeper in training in the same promotion as the young man on Twitter.
"I learn with sadness the death of Pablo who was a wonderful person, with whom I was able to exchange", writes another future police officer on Twitter.
