The new Greens co-parliamentary group leader Britta Haßelmann emphasizes the unity of her group at the start of the traffic light.
"We have a clear mandate to implement the projects from the coalition agreement," says Haßelmann on ARD.
You have no concern that the parliamentary group will be a snatching body for government projects.
Haßelmann was elected to the top of the parliamentary group with a large majority on Tuesday, together with Katharina Dröge.
How many votes will Scholz get?
8.50 a.m.: It is out of the question
that Olaf Scholz misses the necessary majority. But it will be interesting to see how many votes he gets. The SPD, Greens and FDP together have 416 of 736 seats in the Bundestag - a majority of 56.5 percent. Should Scholz get fewer than 416 votes, suspicions are likely that some MPs from the traffic light parties have refused to support him.
Should there be a political earthquake and Scholz should miss the majority, the Bundestag could "elect a Federal Chancellor with more than half of its members" within fourteen days - according to Article 63 of the Basic Law.
If such an election does not take place within this period, »a new ballot will take place immediately, in which the person who receives the most votes is elected.
If the elected person wins the majority of the members of the Bundestag, the Federal President must appoint him within seven days of the election.
If the person elected does not achieve this majority, the Federal President must either appoint him or dissolve the Bundestag within seven days. "
