Pecres beats Macron in opinion poll on French presidential election

Paris, SANA-An opinion poll organized by the French (ELAP) institute revealed a high level of support for the (Republican Party) candidate.

An opinion poll organized by the French (ILAP) institute revealed that support for the (Republican Party) candidate, Valerie Pecresse, has risen to 20 percent of voting intentions during the first round of voting for the presidential elections in France next April, and is likely to win over current President Emmanuel Macron in the second round.

The poll indicated, according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse today, that the president of the Ile-de-France region benefited from the popular interest surrounding the primaries, recording an advance of 11 percentage points compared to a previous poll conducted by the institute on November 23-24, while Macron slipped by two points to get 23 percent of voting intentions are in the first round of voting.

The opinion poll was conducted online on the 6th and 7th of December and included a representative sample of 1,474 people.

The two candidates Pepres and Macron lead by a large margin in the first round over the rest of the candidates.

The poll showed that 58 percent of voters have made up their minds to vote in the 2022 presidential elections, while 44 percent of voters who intend to vote are still not sure of their choice and may change their opinion.
