SNCF drivers are called on to strike by the CGT, SUD and FO unions to denounce the deterioration of working conditions

Be careful if you have to travel to Ile-de-France on Thursday.

A strike movement on the RER B promises to be very followed.

According to traffic forecasts communicated by SNCF, only one in two trains will run on the northern part of the line.

South of Gare du Nord, on the part operated by RATP, three out of four trains are planned.

Interconnection is maintained at Gare du Nord.

SNCF drivers operating on the RER B line are called on to strike by the CGT-Cheminots, SUD-Rail and FO-Cheminots unions to denounce the deterioration of working conditions and demand wage increases, according to union leaflets

If the RER B, which crosses the Paris region from northeast to southwest, is operated jointly by SNCF and RATP, this call to strike only concerns SNCF employees.

Degraded working conditions, according to unions

“Line B, this Thursday, December 9, let’s express our anger (…).

Our demands are legitimate ”, writes SUD-Rail in a leaflet addressed to the drivers and the managers of their schedules.

The union calls for a "general increase in wages", "respect for the life" of drivers or the improvement of the currently "degraded" working conditions of planning managers.

The CGT-Cheminots, for its part, calls on drivers, planning managers, traffic regulators and agents responsible for providing sound information to travelers at the station to a "massively followed strike" to "open their eyes to a direction that wants to be blind" .

The union denounces a policy of "savings" made to the detriment of "jobs" and "living and working conditions" of railway workers.

The CGT also protests against the use of "dilapidated infrastructure and rolling stock".

The RER B is used by nearly a million passengers per day, in ordinary times.

The line is dilapidated and suffers from numerous disruptions and delays.

In October, only 88% of trains were on time.
