The education system will allocate NIS 438 million for a program to prevent violence Israel today

Purchasing psychological treatments for students and establishing a line for teachers - this is the Ministry of Education's program against violence.

In light of the increasing violence in the education system, the Ministry of Education today launched a program to prevent violence.

The program called "Come Well - Do Not Raise Your Hands" will be budgeted at about NIS 438 million.

Among other things, NIS 30 million of the budget will be allocated to strengthen counseling hours in elementary schools and middle schools.

Each school will receive a sum of money through which the staff will be able to purchase services, including a combination of experts and external consultants.

The program will focus on students on the educational staff as well as parents.

Among other things, schools will be able to allocate one hour per week for emotional-social activities, allocate one hour per week for physical activity to relieve stress and reduce stress, allocate some of the individual lessons to personal conversations with students and provide individual or group psychological therapies to students.

Principals will be able to assign teachers 10 sessions with a professional to strengthen emotional resilience and an emotional assistance line will be opened for educators (* 6552).

In the parent sector, it will be possible to hold weekly weekly lectures by psychological counselors and expert counselors, lectures in schools, and an emotional assistance line will be opened for parents (* 6552).

The plan was formulated against the background of the sharp rise in violent incidents that have befallen the education system in recent times.

Against the background of prolonged closures and distance learning there has been a sharp rise in their emotional and social distress.

There was also a decrease in their level of emotional resilience.

In the psychological-counseling service in the Ministry of Education, the emotional disconnection of students is linked to the increase in incidents of violence, so a significant part of the program will focus on addressing this connection.

The program will also focus on addressing principals and education staff who have experienced personal and professional difficulty since the outbreak of the Corona crisis.

As stated, NIS 258 million transferred during the last month will be used to increase counseling hours, training days, emergency staff training, an additional budget for the psychological counseling service and training in the emotional-social field.

An additional NIS 180 million will soon be allocated to the schools and will constitute a "flexible budget" under which they will be able to purchase various services that meet their needs.

In terms of the division into age groups, NIS 123 million will be allocated to elementary schools and middle schools.

NIS 27 million will go to schools in the upper division.
