Researchers from the University of Hong Kong published an electron microscope image, which is the first of the omicron mutant from the Corona virus.
And the university stated in a statement that medical scientists, including pathologists and virologists, were able to take a microscopic image of a monkey kidney cell after infection with the Omicron mutant and issue the image at low and high magnification.
The researchers explained that at low energy the micrograph shows damage to cells that contain swollen vesicles containing small black viral particles, while the high-magnification optical micrograph shows groups of viral particles with coronal spines on their surface.
Earlier, researchers from the Department of Microbiology at the University of Hong Kong were able to isolate the Omicron mutant from clinical samples, which will allow the development and production of vaccines against this new strain.
The World Health Organization had announced the inclusion of the new mutant of the Corona virus, discovered in South Africa and other countries, among the list of variables of concern.
