This year, on the second of December, the UAE announced the start of its national strategy for the coming years, as it launched a new round of strategic projects for local and international growth, "the 50 projects", which provides an impetus for investment in digital and circular economies and sectors based on artificial intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Syria and the United Arab Emirates have close brotherly relations and a common aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation and intensify efforts to explore new horizons for this. Last November witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Electricity in Syria and a grouping of Emirati companies to establish a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 300 megawatts in Damascus countryside and an agreement between the Business Council The Syrian-Emirati Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Umm Al Quwain, the UAE, to activate cooperation between the two sides and support trade exchange and economic relations between the business communities in Syria and the UAE.

The UAE, which in late 2018, reopened its embassy in Damascus, seeks to enhance its role on the international and regional arena under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and has made great progress at various levels in the climate field. It is working to find innovative solutions to advance sustainable economic growth, thus becoming the first country In the Middle East and North Africa, it launches a strategic initiative to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

The UAE has also succeeded in making progress in the field of human rights to ensure fair treatment of all its citizens and residents, in addition to legal and social reforms with the aim of enhancing economic and investment opportunities at the level of the individual and society, in addition to the UAE government's support for women's rights, empowerment and equality with men.

Over the past years, the UAE has achieved many achievements, including the adoption of Abu Dhabi as the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency in 2009, the opening of a solar power plant in Madinat Zayed in 2013, the establishment of the UAE Space Agency to oversee the Mars mission in 2014, the launch of the national strategy for artificial intelligence in 2017, and the arrival of the first Emirati to Space in 2019 and the adoption of a comprehensive reform of the new visa system for the UAE and the enactment of the largest legal reform in 2021.

Syria will participate in the Expo 2020, which was launched by the UAE in Dubai at the end of last September, with a pavilion that presents a comprehensive vision of Syria's history, culture, arts and economy and focuses mainly on presenting it as an active and influential element in the history, culture, arts and economy of the world.
