The Knesset plenum voted this evening (Wednesday) against the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry committee in the case of the prisoner pimp.
46 MKs opposed, 41 supported. This, after MK Ofir Sofer (Religious Zionism) from the opposition put to the vote the proposal to establish a commission of inquiry.
According to the Minister of Internal Security, Amar Bar-Lev, his opposition stems from the desire to allow other proceedings underway in the State Attorney's Office to be exhausted.
According to MK Sofer, following the testimony of the Gilboa commander, about pimping in the prisons and the announcement that the IPS investigation committee will not investigate the affair, the MK put to a vote a proposal to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee to examine the conduct of the prison service.
