Yet surprisingly, it is the simple and affordable Apple Polishing Cloth that wears out the most consistently. Of course, this is not the first cleaning cloth to be released.
There are literally hundreds of alternatives.
After several weeks of use, our verdict: Although you may want to show it off, you probably don't need it.

A high quality cloth
Apple's polishing cloth arrives in a small box from which you must pull the tab to remove a thin line of tape and open it.
Inside you will find the fabric itself and a piece of cardboard with detailed instructions for use.

The square fabric measures 6.3 inches by 6.3 inches and is soft to the touch but firmer than some other comparable products.
The folks at iFixIt ripped one off and it turns out the fabric is two-piece sewn together, making it noticeably thicker.
The double design doesn't make much of a difference, as almost all microfiber cleaning cloths offer two different sides, but it adds weight, making it easy to maneuver across a variety of devices.
The material itself is almost identical to the inside of an iPad smart cover or a silicone iPhone case on the inside.
Apple's website calls it a "soft, non-abrasive material," which makes sense since it's made from microfiber.
We noticed that it also has a smaller footprint than a typical fabric, as well as a stitched Apple logo in the lower left corner.
So how does it work in use?
It works surprisingly well, gliding easily on an iPhone, MacBook, iPad, or Apple Watch screen, and it definitely removes those nasty smudges.
For larger devices like a Mac or iPad Pro, you'll have to clean multiple times given the size of the cloth, but it still feels effortless.
Priced at $ 19 for a single cloth, it's not cheap, although we imagine it will clean your screen for at least several years.
For those Apple users who want to stick with the company's high-end polishing cloth, this option does exactly what it sets out to do.
But for those looking for more for their money or maybe a bulk solution, we found some great alternatives like Amazon's.
