Maccabi Haifa will soon offer Barak Bachar a contract for two more years, beyond the current season, in an attempt to extend his contract even before the end of the season.
Bachar is highly regarded by club president Yaakov Shachar for the achievements he has brought with the team, for the great improvement in the level of the game and the respectable European campaign in the home stage of the Conference League (4 points so far).
The 42-year-old coach's contract expires in May, but the intention is to extend it before then, with the understanding that Bachar is the right man to continue to head the professional system.
It is important to note that in Haifa they are aware that they will have to upgrade Bachar's salary in a certain way, who gave up quite a bit of money when he finished his career at Hapoel B'Shlosha and arrived in Carmel.
These are things that depend on negotiations, but the mutual appreciation between the parties is expected to help the new contract come to fruition before April, so usually Shahar makes the decisions about the coach's identity.

Barak Bachar has coached Maccabi Haifa for a total of about a year and a half, during which he won the championship with the Greens, the Champions Champion, the Toto Cup and, as mentioned, qualifying for the European home stage for the first time since 2014. Tomorrow (Thursday) Haifa will end its European campaign. .
To date, Bachar has preferred to sign for one season, although this time it may change due to the club's desire to see the coach over time.
Haifa is also aware that the Football Association is interested in seeing Bachar receive the national team in May, upon the termination of his contract in Carmel.
