The Israeli occupation continues to expand settlement operations in the occupied city of Jerusalem to Judaize it and empty it of the Palestinian presence with the aim of preventing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 line, with Jerusalem as its capital.

The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in its weekly report issued today on its website that the occupation authorities announced a plan to establish 473 settlement units on an area of 38 dunums of Palestinian lands in the town of Beit Safafa, southeast of occupied Jerusalem. The town was prevented from any urban expansion to narrow them down and displace them as part of his plans to Judaize the city.

The report indicated that the occupation is escalating its attacks on Jerusalemites. In addition to expanding settlements and demolishing homes and facilities, which affected two homes in the towns of Beit Hanina and Silwan, its forces intensified their barriers in the city's streets, especially the Old City and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to restrict the movement of Palestinians while providing protection for settlers during their repeated incursions into the city.

The report pointed out that the occupation continues its violations against the Palestinians in the West Bank, as its forces demolished several agricultural facilities in the towns of Masafer Yatta in Hebron, Al-Khader and Nahalin in Bethlehem, and three homes in the town of Beit Furik in Nablus. One dunum of agricultural land in the village of Umm al-Khair, south of Hebron, and prevented farmers from accessing their lands in the town of Qaryut in Nablus.

The report stated that the settlers seized swathes of Palestinian lands in the town of Qassis in Bethlehem and near the Khallet Khader spring in the Farsieh area in the northern Jordan Valley. They also stormed the Old City and the towns of As-Samou’ and Masafer Yatta in Hebron, Wasilat Al-Zuhr in Jenin and Madama village in Nablus, and attacked Palestinian homes and properties.

The report indicated that the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, during her briefing before the United Nations Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, warned that the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories had reached catastrophic levels due to the continuous violations of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against the Palestinians, stressing the The international community is required to hold the occupation accountable for these violations and to stop them.
