Residents face gunfire almost daily following a clan-land dispute that has claimed the lives of four people in the past three years.
The last of them, 18-year-old Muhammad Abu Amar, was shot dead last night, and in front of him, a member of his age belonging to the same family, and a couple from the rival clan were killed while sitting with their son in the car.

On the feelings in the settlement after the murder - and on the desire to return to a quiet life.
"Most of the people here are normative, educated and unrelated to crime and blood feuds. And this conflict affects everyone," said one of them.
"Some of the young people no longer refer to the sheikhs. Balkia has a crazy fear. Daily shooting. Not just shooting, but bundles."

Another resident was not surprised by the latter case.
"There has been a conflict between two clans for three years. In the last month every shooting day, every day casualties, and the writing was on the wall. It started on the ground and rolled. It was predictable," he said, but clarified that "it can be prevented."
"We are scared. In the last month and a half there has been a shooting here and six people from every family have been injured," he continued.
"I'm not optimistic. My call to the country - enough, heartbreaking and sad. A child who has not seen anything should hear shots and violence."
